The coastal areas around Inhambane are home to some of the most
popular tourist destinations in Mozambique. The capital of the region
is Inhambane and Barra Peninsula as well as the holiday
village of Tofo and the are within easy reach from Inhambane and
transfers from Inhambane airport can be arranged.
Less accessible but also a popular destination for South African holiday
makers with 4x4 vehciles is the Guinjata Bay area, including Jangamo
Beach and Pandane Beach. A few hidden gems such as the beach
and estuary at Pomene and the beautiful unspoilt beaches at Morrungulo

Barra Peninsula |

The Barra peninsula is bordered by the Inhambane estuary on
one side and the sea on the other and has long white sandy beaches.
The peninsula is accessible in a normal car, although the last few
km's to some of the resorts are on a corrugated dirt road which
can get sandy in patches. |
