Barra Palms is situated at Barra beach about 20 km from the tourism town of Inhambane and the Airport . The chalets are built at the base of the main primary dune under a shady haven of palm trees with the beach about 60 meters away. The access road from the main road to the hardcore parking area of the lodge is good so it is not a necessity to have a 4x4 vehicle.

These two classy self-catering Mozambique houses which comprise Barra Palms stand proudly amongst the tall palms in the popular Barra Beach area. The two houses share a newly built swimming pool which provides refreshing relief from the warm summer temperatures.

Accommodation at Barra Palms, Barra Beach

Each house comprises 3 tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms which sleep 6 people comfortably (the 2 upstairs bedrooms are accessible via the outside stairs) with corner baths and private decks, a modern, very well equipped kitchen and a lounge area which leads out onto a wooden deck under the shade of the coconut palms. House No.2 can accommodate up to 8 people - the upstairs bedroom has 1 x double bed and 1 x bunk bed.

Situated close to the main attractions in Barra, guests are also within walking distance to restaurants and bars should they decide not to self-cater on the odd night. The clear blue waters and white sands of the beach are a mere 50m from the houses. In addition, guests are not required to have a 4x4 vehicle.

These houses offer guests stylish and very comfortable accommodation, soft sea breezes and the promise of a Mozambique beach holiday never to be forgotten.

Travel Tips
Road Rules:
- Obey the speed limits especially when approaching the towns.
- Keep to the limit on the other side of the town right up to the open road speed sign (open road 100 km /hr –toll road 120 km per hr)
- Wear safety belts
- Put hazards on if stopped by a police officer

Rules of the border:
- Obtain 3rd party insurance
- Declare ALL valuable goods on the SARS exit permit
- Do not use runners at Komati,go straight to Global Insurance and pay them R100 to do your documents if there is a big que.That excludes the 3rd party of R150

DIRECTIONS TO BARRA PALMS
From the outskirts of Maputo, follow the signs to Xai Xai (EN1). We advise you to fill up your vehicle at Xai Xai (Engen Garage is recommended) and continue north to Inhambane.

Drive through the city of Inhambane and follow signboard to Tofo, Barra and the Airport. Continue with this road for approximately 15 minutes (badly potholed) until you reach the Barra/Tofo crossroads.

With Bar Babalaza on your right hand side, continue straight on dirt road for approximately 7kms.

At the T Junction – keep right and turn right again along a sand track for approximately 100m. Barra Palms will be on your right hand side.
