Accommodation at Avocet Lodge, Barra Beach

The lodge features four luxury en-suite bedrooms, a fully-equipped kitchen, an entertainment area with a patio and barbecue, a TV, swimming pool, and an amazing sea view. All of the rooms have fans and mosquito nets, and features include fresh borehole water, 24-hour security, and a daily domestic service.

The spacious tiled kitchen is fully equipped for self catering and additional equipment includes microwave, electric frying pan, toaster and kettle. The kitchen counter is open plan to the lounge and entertainment area. The large partially covered deck which houses the outdoor entertainment and braai area is the perfect spot to enjoy the setting sun whilst sipping on something delicious!

Attractions
The lodge is a 10 minute walk to the beach – the well known Barra Beach which offers a growing number of lodges, restaurants and bars which provide an assortment of local delicacies, beverages and activities.

Sail across the bay from Inhambane to Maxixe, pronounced "ma-sheish", on a traditional Indian Ocean lateen-rigged dhow. Experience the teeming life of the tropical coral reefs, go scuba-diving with manta rays, catch big kingfish, or kick of your shoes and go beach-combing. For scuba divers and game fisherman, this is the place to be.

DIRECTIONS
From the outskirts of Maputo, follow the signs to Xai Xai (EN1). We advise you to fill up your vehicle at Xai Xai (Engen Garage is recommended) and continue north to Inhambane.

Drive through the city of Inhambane and follow signboard to Tofo, Barra and the Airport. Continue with this road for approximately 15 minutes (badly potholed) until you reach the Barra/Tofo crossroads.

With Bar Babalaza on your right hand side, continue straight on dirt road for approximately 7 Kms. Where the road splits, turn right (past Anda Ca Lodge) and first right again. At the sign board for Dorado Lodge (before Casas Delight) turn right up the dune on sand road. Before the road begins to descend, Avocet Lodge is on the left hand side (opposite Lalapanzi).
