Pleasure Bay - an exquisite seaside holiday resort, situated approximately 485 km north of Maputo that offers visitors a stunning and unique Mozambique experience. Various self catering or full board accommodation options are available, all with spectacular sea views overlooking the bay "Baia Das Correntes".

The natural bay is a wonderful playground for all water sports enthusiasts and offers a wide variety of activities ranging from deep sea angling to scuba diving and for the less adventurous ones, simply enjoy long walks on the pristine beach or lazing in the glorious sunshine.

We have also recently added an Entertainment Centre consisting of swimming pool, kiddies activity centre and we now boast with the deepest swimming pool in Mozambique (4 m) that will be used for diving training.

Not only is the well known "Lighthouse Reef" one of the finest and most spectacular coral reefs in Mozambique, but it also creates a stunning and wonderful safe natural bay.

The temperature of the water is absolutely divine and therefore very enticing to spend hours in. With a wide variety of activities ranging from scuba diving to deep sea angling and all sorts of water sports, feel free to relax and forget about the stressful demands of modern day living.

Accommodation at Pleasure Bay, Tofo

Soon upon arrival, one will be excused for being lured into a totally different state of mind, while enjoying the sounds, smell, ambience and timeless beauty of this environment.

Our private chalets are nestled against the dunes and hidden amongst swinging palm trees, offering both beautiful sea views and sought-after privacy.

Our new studios, of which construction is scheduled to be completed in November 2012, are located conveniently close to the restaurant and dive centre and also enjoy the spectacular view from the top of the dunes.

Pleasure Bay offers self catering or full board accommodation units that include the following:
Bedding
Mosquito nets
Cutlery and crockery
Deep freezer, gas- stove and -geyser as well as a 24 hour electricity supply. Regrettably towels are not supplied.

Accommodation
The private chalets, nestled against the dunes and hidden among swinging palm trees, all have beautiful sea views overlooking the bay "Baia Das Correntes".

2 Sleeper Chalets
A one bedroom, bathroom unit with one double bed. These chalets sleep maximum 2 persons and includes an electric geyser.

4 Sleeper Chalets
A two bedroom, bathroom unit with two double and two single beds.
Maximum guests are limited to four.

8 Sleeper Chalets
A four bedroom unit, including one double bed and six single beds, as well as two comfortable bathrooms.
Maximum guests are limited to eight.

4 Sleeper Unit
A unit with 1 bedroom (private) , small open plan kitchen and bathroom. It has 1 double bed and 1 bunkbed for 2 kids.

2 Sleeper Unit
A 2 sleeper unit with open plan bedroom, kitchenette and bathroom. It has 1 double bed.

The natural bay, formed by the Lighthouse Reef, is a wonderful playground for all water-sports enthusiasts.

Mozambique Scuba Diving - Pleasure Bay Resort
The well known Lighthouse Reef forms a magnificent bay for snorkeling and with many world renowned reefs within easy striking distance, divers can experience underwater beauty at it's best as these are top rated spots on the African East Coast.

The coral garden lies inside the Lighthouse Reef in 2 - 3 meters of water and can be described as one of the finest snorkeling spots of the African East Coast. On a good day, visibility extends to as much as fourty one meters, with thousands of tropical species to be viewed by the entire family.

Jangamo Reef is well known for its incredible whale shark diving opportunities and definitely one of the top places in the world to encounter the majestic whale sharks. Divers are able to dive amongst these amazing gentle giants without a CMAS or other dive qualifications required.

Whale sharks and the odd Humpback Whale are known to be seen all year round though the waters are heavily populated during the Mozambique summer months (September - February). Please note that February is the known time of year for Cyclones, and in case this happens, it has a mojor effect on the visibility as it drops dramatically.

Divers are to be warned and reminded about the rules regarding diving with Whale Sharks, as how close you are allowed to approach these animals as well as touching them. Although Whale Sharks show no threat to divers, they are still extremely powerful sharks and should therefor be respected.

Bottlenose dolphins are the most commonly sighted species along our stretch of coastline. They can be incredibly playful and often surf the bow waves of our diving boat. Sometimes allowing us the opportunity to swim amongst them, depending on their mood.

Manta Reef is world famous for the two Manta cleaning stations, first discovered by Carlos do Rocha in the 1960's. Since then this site has attracted marine biologists, cameramen and divers from around the world. Generally the visibility is between 10 and 30 meters (average of 20 meters). The water temperature in the Indian Ocean varies from 23 to 29 'C. All our dive sites feature an abundance of coral and are all reef dives.

The resort is situated approximately 485km north of Maputo. Most of the roads have been upgraded recently and compare very well to South African standards. The resort is accessible via a normal Sedan up until the last 4 km of the 26 km red sand road, where you do indeed need 4x4 transport. Safe enclosed parking and 4x4 transport can be arranged for visitors without 4x4 vehicles.

Guests who prefer to fly may enjoy the luxury of a direct flight from Johannesburg (O.R. Tambo) to Inhambane via LAM where by arrangement, the lodge will assist you with your transport to Pleasure Bay.
