Mozambique December 2008 Availability

Accommodation in Mozambique is always booked well in advance for the peak periods of December and Easter. If it is possible for you to change your dates to avoid these peak times you will benefit both in terms of better value for money and enjoy a far more relaxed holiday, however we do appreciate that the long December and Easter holidays is the only time families may have the opportunity to visit Mozambique and if this is the case for you then please see our availability below.

Barra

The Barra peninsula is bordered by the Inhambane estuary on one side and the sea on the other and has long white sandy beaches. The peninsula is accessible in a normal car, although the last few km's to some of the resorts are on a corrugated dirt road which can get sandy in patches. Distance from Komatipoort border +- 590km.

Tofo

Tofo is a lovely quiet village with a relaxed atmosphere, beautiful beaches, great surf and excellent dive sites. Distance from Komatipoort border +- 590km.

Guinjata & Coconut Bay Area

The last 30km to Guinjata / Coconut Bay is on a sand road and a 4x4 or high clearance vehicle with a diff lock is required. Transfers can be arranged from Inhambane to Guinjata Bay for fly-in visitors to Mozambique.

Ponta Do Ouro

The bay of Ponta do Ouro is in the extreme south of Mozambique and is known for its good beaches and abundant marine life.

You will need a 4x4 to reach this area, however transfers can be arranged by most lodges from the Kosi border post where safe parking is provided (parking at Kosi border approx. R25 per day).
