Rio Azul Lodge is situated on the Northern end of the Bazaruto Archipelago at the mouth of the pristine Govuro River which enters the sea at Bartholomew Dias. Guests enjoy a scenic 1 ½ hours road transfer from Vilancoulos before reaching this private beach haven.

The lodge faces west and enjoys spectacular sunsets in a quiet and peaceful setting of your own personal paradise. The setting is ideal for honeymoons, romantic holidays, family holidays, fishing holidays and of course beach holidays. Excellent fishing and bird watching opportunities wait, as well as kayaking, snorkelling and boating to name a few of the lodge beach holiday activities.

Each group has access to their own boat to explore the estuary, allowing for endless hours exploring this pristine environment. Part of the experience is the excellent fine dining experience, with freshly caught cuisine to tantalise your senses.

Chalets and Villas

Rio Azul offers luxury lodge accommodation including six twin chalets and two luxury villas which sleep six adults and six children. Each villa has its own swimming pool and is situated along pristine beach shores.

Beach Front Chalets - Rio Azul Lodge has six Beach Front Chalets. Each Chalet consists of a Twin Bedroom with two ¾ beds. Each Chalet also has a pull roll out bed for children under 16 years. Each Chalet has a beach front view with a view of spectacular sunsets over the beach, estuary and sea.

Beach Front Villa - Rio Azul Lodge in Mozambique has two Beach Front Villas. Each Villa consists of three double bedrooms, sleeping a maximum of six adults as well as loft with three bunk beds for children under 16 yrs. Each of the Rio Azul Lodge Villas has its own private deck with a swimming pool, seating that includes beach chairs and a dining room table with a spectacular view off sunsets over the beach and sea.

The Rio Azul Lodge Villas have Kitchens fitted with Stove, Microwave, Kettle, Toaster and other amenities that you might require during your stay. The Rio Azul Lodge Villas have large lounge areas that offer ample seating for all visitors.
