"Your choice in sending us to Londo Lodge was superb. What an incredible place! It was remote, beautiful and true honeymoon destination. The attention to detail at Londo was exceptional - from the furnishings in the individual villas to the exquisite food prepared by Evelyn. Each night we found a small handmade gift beside our beds and on our final night we had rose petals leading from our door to the bed! Each morning we would awake to the fishermen's chants in their boats on the way to their various fishing locations and in addition the lapping of the waves. It was just so peaceful!
The food was stunning, we consumed vast quantities of freshly caught yellow fin tuna (which made delicious sashimi), crab and langoustine. Each meal we were in a divine setting overlooking the ocean. Evelyn is a truly superb chef! It was without a doubt better food than I have had in any restaurant.
We did some great dives and our final of which we were able to walk from Londo's private beach - too easy!"

Londo Lodge is just paradise, the setting is stunning and the hosts wonderful. Our stay at Londo was the best bit of our honeymoon, we stayed there for a week out of our three week honeymoon and could have stayed forever.
P-J and Evelyn couldn't have looked after us better, the food is truely out of this world. The inspiration for the food has clearly come from all over the world, with the finest and freshest ingredients, I have never met a chef so passionate about cooking.
The bay was teaming with tuna and marlin, which nearly sent my fisherman husband over the edge!
We would highly recommend this stunning, tranquil lodge which we felt so relaxed and welcome at.

Having spent 12 nights over christmas and new year, I can say the following.
The setting is idylic - peace and quiet in the african bush on the indian ocean. if you want a pina colada served on the beach, go to the Maldives. If you want real comfort, tranquility, great food etc., with the odd reminder of where you really are - ie. a remote african bush setting - then here is the place. The food is first rate if you know what good food is. The freshest of fish, crab, etc. with asian/european/african fusion overtones. exquisite.
If you want peace and quiet , african bird life, baboons in the bush behind you, but with the option of a bit of diving every now and then, loads of snorkelling off the private beach amongst coral, a bit of water skiing, a sail in the dow boat in the evening, a walk in the bush etc. then here is the place. If you want full - on water sports, hobie cats, kids clubs, tennis courts blah blah blah. then go to the Maldives.
Staff are delightful. Owners delightful. All is very laid back, with a massage or two from Alice leaving one completely and utterly relaxed. If you're lucky, the generator might pack up for a while and you will have the magic of the moonlight, and a bucket shower. We loved it.
Yes. drinks etc may appear pricey. But oddly enough, Africa generally is pricey compared to asia, for example, and it is not surprising that south african wine or scottish whisky served in the remotest area of northern mozambique is more expensive than in your local liquor store.
I would recommend people understand what type of people they are and what type of holiday they want. But if you are looking for something more natural, equally comfortable, excellent food, yet less synthetic than the typical indan ocean holiday, then this is most likely the place for you.
And remember: it is remote - that's the idea. Don't expect taxi rides in the boat to the mainland to go shopping as one reviewer appeared to expect, and then object to being charged!
