Ulala Lodge Mozambique Ulala Lodge is located in Murrébué, in an old coconut farm on a 300m long beach. Close to Pemba (20 minutes from the city centre, 15 minutes from the airport), in the North of Mozambique.

This former coconut plantation is an ideal base for those looking for calm and contemplation, the sense of isolation encourages rest and relaxation. The beauty of these huge schools of white sand, lined with a turquoise and clear water, will satisfy the dreamers.

The beach is clean and quiet and water temperature is 25°C to 30+ year round.

We have focused on local materials (bamboo, coconut leaf roofs, teak decks, laterite) while providing modern comfort and warmth.

We also produce our electricity through wind, and our hot water through solar panels, all made locally.

Full Moon Rise of the Ocean
Try to come to the full moon. Magnificent spectacle of the full red moon, huge, rising over the Indian Ocean just after dusk.

Round Lake
A nice walk from one hour and a half around a freshwater lake behind the dunes. Storks, egrets and pelicans are often with return at sunset.

Ulala is on the beach, facing the ocean. Wind is almost always there to cool off. The most pleasant period is from June to September, when it is cooler and less cumbersome. The nights can be chilly. Even in the rainy season it rarely rains for long. Onshore winds chase the clouds to the inside. We strongly advise half board or full board, as we are quite isolated from town.

Climate
Ulala is on the beach, facing the ocean. We almost always have a refreshing wind. The nicest time to come is June to September, when it is cool and not too stuffy. Nights can be nice and fresh. The dry season starts in may and ends in December. The rainy season is… guess what! January to April.

But even in the rainy season, we rarely have bad weather for a long time. The sea winds just make all these bad clouds go away after short heavy rains which rarely last more than one or two hours.
