At Libélula, a bohemian paradise in Nacala Bay, Northern
Mozambique, you'll find a warm welcome, comfortable beds, fantastic
food and the best sunset view in the bay.
Come dive with us in our marine reserve, enjoy cocktails on the
pool deck or listen to the sound of the humpback whales breaching
right on our doorstep (in season, August - November - roughly).
At our dive sites you will be able to see an enormous variety of
marine life including frog fish, leaf fish, nudibranchs and even
sea-horses.
Above the waters you will find an array of rare and beautiful
insects like the cryptically patterned Monkey Moths or the rare,
non-venomous Tailless Whip Scorpions, countless dragonflies as well
as the many nocturnal stick insects and colourful butterflies.
Getting there:
By Road: (about 2 hrs from Nampula)
Leave Nampula heading towards Nacala-Bay/Nacala-Porto taking the
EN 8.
After reaching Namiallo, continue on the EN 8 for a further 100
Kms.
Pass the turn off to the left for Nacala Velha, and continue for
a further 7Kms.
The road forks, take the right fork. After 2 Kms, take the turning
to the right. If you reach the BP Station, you have gone too far.
Continue on this road for approx. 10 Kms, and you will see the sign
for LIBÉLULA to your left, opposite the air base.
Follow the dirt road down the hill, and follow the signs for LIBÉLULA
as you reach the bottom.
A chapa (the local minibus service) is also available from Nampula
to Nacala, departing Nampula Bus Station. (This should cost around
150Mts / 7USD)
