Bazaruto Island is characterised by beautiful unspoilt beaches, turquoise sea and wild fauna. A perfect base for diving around the islands, trying out some water sports, fishing, beach walking, snorkelling or just chilling. With a great tropical climate and the warm Indian Ocean lapping all around the island it is easy to imagine you are in paradise.

Bazaruto lodge is a relaxed tranquil escape from the world, located at the north end of Bazaruto Island it has 26 thatched chalets including 2 family and 1 honeymoon chalet.

Half the chalets face the sea while the others look out onto the beautiful gardens, all are within a few metres walk of the beach. There are no phones or TVs in the rooms to interrupt your enjoyment (there is phone facilities and a TV with DSTV at the main lodge building). The swimming pool has a pool side bar and the activity centre offers wind surfing, canoeing, and snorkel gear free of charge to guests and can also organise dives, fishing (rock and surf), sailing trips, far reef snorkelling trips and land rover excursions around the island. There is also full conference/wedding facilities available at the lodge with a convention centre for up to 25 people.

All meals are included when staying at Bazaruto lodge (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and they cater for all tastes and of course delicious local seafood features highly on the menu.

Getting to Bazaruto Island

Getting to Bazaruto island lodge is done by air, there are daily flights from Vilanculos to Bazaruto Island (approx. 20 minutes), to get to Vilanculos there are flights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from Maputo and daily from Johannesburg.
