We are looking forward to welcome you to Praia de Ouro Sul, a secluded, private lodge, situated on the first row of forested dunes in an indigenous coastal forest, which has just been awarded a Five Star Lodge Award by the Mozambican Department of Tourism.

Praia de Ouro Sul is situated on the beach where the South African and Mozambican borders meet. If your idea of an unforgettable holiday demands tropical beaches, white sands, hot weather, the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and a relaxed atmosphere, you have come to the right place.

We offer a wide variety of activities at the resort itself, and the neighbouring village Ponta do Ouro, which is a mere 10 minutes’ drive away, is world-famous for diving and fishing. We have a dedicated service provider, who offers a wide range of diving and fishing packages.

Accommodation
Accommodation is in permanent tents, constructed onto a wooden deck, fully equipped. All tents have electricity and hot and cold water and are serviced daily.

Accommodating a maximum of four people each in a tent, two tents situated next to each other on a wooden deck, sharing a kitchenette.

Every tent, be it a single, double or superior tent, has a refrigerator, tea/coffee making facilities, a separate bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet (the superior tent also has a bath), a wardrobe, a desk/dressing table with a chair, a fan and patio furniture. Bedding and towels are supplied. No swimming towels are supplied in the tents - please bring your own or hire swimming towels from reception.

Please note that no braais (barbeques) are allowed at the tents. A boma (communal braai area) with thatched roof, kitchenette, electricity and a large braai area is available for braais and cooking. The restaurant serves breakfast, light meals during the day and dinner daily, except for out of season, when the restaurant is closed on Mondays.

Praia de Ouro Sul is, in the true sense of the word, an eco-friendly development, and its development since 2004 is in accordance with the strict environmental requirements of the Government of Mozambique. Luxury, permanent tents, situated on the forest side of the dune. Our main complex, consisting of the reception office, a restaurant, bar and management office, is the nerve centre of the resort. Just behind the main complex, the conference centre can be found.

Situated in the south of Mozambique, five minutes’ drive from the tranquil village of Ponta do Ouro and approximately 40 minutes’ drive from the Kosi Bay border post, less than 400 km north of Durban and 700 km from Johannesburg. Tar roads lead up to the South African border post at Kosi Bay, but from there, you will need a four by four vehicle to the resort. Safe parking is available at the border at a reasonable cost. Transfers from the border to Praia de Ouro Sul and back again to the border for visitors without four by four vehicles are arranged.
