Situated in the Province of Inhambane, in Mozambique, Pomene is a piece of paradise with kilometres of beach sand and crystal clear waters. Whale sharks and Dolphins can often be spotted from the point, while a variety of birds can be spotted in the estuary.

Surf, rock and estuary fishing can be done, while the rest of the family enjoys snorkelling in protected pools, relaxing on the beach or enjoying themselves around the freshwater swimming pool.

After a busy day, sit back and relax with a sun downer on the deck, which has a spectacular view of the estuary, or share the day's adventures with the other guests in the bar.

Accommodation consists of detached self catering 5 sleeper chalets. Chalets are equipped with bedding, kitchen utensils, fridge/freezer, hot plate and kettle. Each chalet is allocated its own braai.

The chalets are serviced daily.

Ice and cold drinks are available from the bar, which situated at the main complex, which also has an entertainment room with satellite TV.

There is running hot and cold, fresh water, with the generator running these times everyday:

8am-12pm

5pm-10pm

There is a double bed bedroom in each chalet with a large four-poster style mosquito net. There are bed side tables and built in cupboards. There are then 3 single open-plan beds, also with mosquito nets. There is a spacious kitchenette with a standing fridge/deep freeze and two-plate stove as well as all the cutlery and crockery you should need. The windows are made with gauze in order to provide a cool breeze in the hot summer months and the chalets are surrounded by beautiful msasa trees providing shade for outdoor barbecues.

Pomene is one of the few places in Mozambique where you can see Whale Sharks, manta rays and a number of turtle species right off the point of the Old Hotel. The chalets are comfortable and spacious with the added bonus of being fully equipped and serviced providing a stress-free and homely experience. Being a family run lodge, the service is very personal and hands-on. Pomene is still an untouched piece of paradise – the perfect holiday destination for family and friends to enjoy.
