Idube Dining Deck - No need to stop enjoying game viewing for meals, the Idube covered deck has no walls to block your enjoyment. This is where you will be served a full breakfast, delicious lunch and tempting tea.

The colourful open lounge deck combines comfort with a great view of the riverbed as well as those and the African animals coming down to drink at Shadulu Dam or to graze on the lawns.

Relaxing around the Idube boulder swimming pool is a great place to be in the middle of a warm day. Stretch out in the sun or under a shady canopy of trees, watch the birds as they swoop and dip round the water or just lie back, close your eyes and enjoy the sounds of the bush.

For those guests wishing for an extra dose of exercise for the day, Idube has a gymnasium with modern equipment, which will allow them to do a full work out.

Step onto the gently swaying bridge and you cross over to the sunken hide. From inside its cool walls, you look directly onto the dam and the animals as they cross untroubled in front of you.

After an exciting night drive, guests gather at the thatched bar to swap tales of all their great sightings. Then it's time to enjoy a feast in the boma under moonlit skies. The talented chefs at Idube combine the best of European and African cuisine, and venison is featured regularly. Rangers sit with guests at all meals, so you can continue hearing the best of bush tales.

Safari Accommodation

Our exclusive lodge has ten en suite chalets, each individually decorated, with air conditioners, overhead fans and high ceilings.

Each suite has been refurbished giving a very fresh and attractive look, with draped mosquito nets giving a touch of safari romance. There is also mosquito gauze on doors and windows.
Brand new private wooden decks have been added to each suite and have quickly become the favourite place for guests to enjoy both the tranquility of the lodge and a place to view visiting animals.

Enjoy a little romance and adventure of showering under the stars, while listening to the gentle hoot of an owl or the call of a far off jackal.

Exciting Safari Activities: Gather up your camera, sunglasses, hat and binoculars, its time for that eagerly awaited Landrover safari and every morning after breakfast enjoy the great Bush Walks lead by your Ranger.

Big 5 Game Drives

Gather up your camera, sunglasses, hat and binoculars, its time for that eagerly awaited Landrover safari. We go out to catch the best of the early morning, and again in the late afternoon.

Your Ranger has already introduced his Tracker, given some tips for the drive and the excitement begins. We don't know what we will be able to show you, but that's what makes it all so different, unexpected and completely fascinating!

Walking Safaris

Walks are lead by your Ranger every morning after breakfast, and if you would like to join, you will find it an absorbing experience, as well as a chance to shake down all that fabulous food. Emphasis is on looking at the small things not easy to pick up on the drive.

Your Ranger and Tracker have a fund of stories to tell about traditional uses of plants, tracking animals, insects and other fascinating details.

Be careful to look all round as you go or you might miss seeing a swiftly fleeing animal, or maybe the ones that stay!
