Bazaruto Island provides a diverse and stimulating environment within which to keep active all day long.Part of Bazaruto Island is composed of enormous sand dunes, while the remainder of the island is thicket, grassland, scrub and wetland. Thick forests of casuarinas, coconut palms and cashew nut trees grow on the island shores.

Marine species include dolphins, dugongs, humpback whales, marine turtles and the freshwater lakes in the area are home to crocodiles. The impressive beauty of the Bazaruto coral reefs complements this subtropical ecosystem, enriched by the abundance and rare beauty of the tropical fish, clear water and excellent surf, plus rock and fly-fishing. The Bazaruto archipelago is deservedly known as the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean".

Diving
The Bazaruto Marine National Park around Indigo Bay offers some of the finest and most unexplored diving in the world with untouched coral reefs and an astounding diversity of marine species. A dazzling array of fish, from Moray Eels and Stingrays to Barracuda, Kingfish and other pelagic gamefish can be spotted whilst diving here in tropical waters that seldom drop below 26c degrees.
