The guest areas, as well as the luxury Beach Chalets and Bay View Villas,
have been constructed of natural materials like reed, soft-fringed thatch
and wood in order to blend harmoniously with the natural surroundings.
Spectacular restaurants specializing in seafood, and characterful bars
with original walls dating back to the early Portuguese traders, provide
the focus of Indigo Bay's living areas.
Nearby, the Indigo Bay activity centre is the base for a host of Mozambique
island-based activities, such as diving, fishing, snorkeling and water-skiing.
A state-of-the-art dive-training pool is available onsite at Indigo Bay
for guests wanting to hone their diving skills or take up one of several
dive courses on offer. Those Indigo Bay guests simply wanting to relax
can laze around the beautiful swimming pools, drink cocktails (ask for
a caiparinha!) at the wet bar, or while away time at the beach snack bar.
And for ultimate hedonism, the ultra-luxurious new Sanctuary Spa at Indigo
Bay offers a range of pampering treatments to revitalize the weariest
of souls. If you must check your emails, our refreshingly cool business
centre is available.

of enormous sand dunes, while the remainder of the island is thicket,
grassland, scrub and wetland. Thick forests of casuarinas, coconut palms
and cashew nut trees grow on the island shores.
Marine species include dolphins, dugongs, humpback whales, marine turtles
and the freshwater lakes in the area are home to crocodiles. The impressive
beauty of the Bazaruto coral reefs complements this subtropical ecosystem,
enriched by the abundance and rare beauty of the tropical fish, clear
water and excellent surf, plus rock and fly-fishing. The Bazaruto archipelago
is deservedly known as the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean".
Diving
The Bazaruto Marine National Park around Indigo Bay offers some of the
finest and most unexplored diving in the world with untouched coral reefs
and an astounding diversity of marine species. A dazzling array of fish,
from Moray Eels and Stingrays to Barracuda, Kingfish and other pelagic
gamefish can be spotted whilst diving here in tropical waters that seldom
drop below 26c degrees.
Fishing
Indigo Bay provides the perfect launch pad from which to experience some
of the most exciting game fishing to be found in the world. Legendary
species such as Giant Black Marlin, Sailfish and Wahoo frequent the deep
Mozambique Channel surrounding the Bazaruto Archipelago and fishing is
excellent all year round.
