Casas
The casas are ideal for a family of 4. The casa have one bedroom,
bathroom with toilet, basin and shower, fully equipped kitchen (crockery,
cutlery, pots/pans, fridge/freezer and gas stove) and the loft.
The stairs to the loft is quite steep and is not recommended for
elderly people or people with strains/disabilities.
There is a “stoep” with a built-in-braai and all casas
have seaview. The casas have outdoor showers. All beds can be kingsize
or single beds with white linen and square mosquito nets. This units
are serviced daily by our trustworthy and friendly staff.
Barracas
Luxury Camping, the 8 barracas are suitable for a group
of 2-16 people. There are 4 separate fully equipped outdoor kitchens/lapa's
(crockery, cutlery, pots/ pans, fridge/freezer and gas stove for
the big kitchen and 2 plate stoves for the 3 smaller kitchens).
The big kitchen is equipped with 20 water/wine glasses, cups, plates,
etc and with 2 fridge/ freezers, 2 chest freezers and 2 fridges
as well as a Built-in-braai.
The 3 smaller kitchens have each their own fridge/ freezer facilities
and including all crockery and cutlery with two plate stove and
built-in-braai. All these kitchens are allocated as per booking
– no sharing.
The barracas does not have their own bathrooms and must use the
centrally located ablution, which are very clean and spacious. (4
toilets, 4 basin, 4 showers). All barracas, kitchens and bathrooms
are fully serviced daily by our trustworthy and friendly staff.
Outdoor shower is centrally situated for all to use.

Take the N4 towards Komatiepoort (Witbank, Nelspruit, Malelane,
Komatipoort). Lebombo border into Mozambique. EN4 towards Maputo.
1st Tollgate, Moamba Plaza
On the double road towards Maputo you will get the first robot,
turn left. (On your lefthandside SHOPRITE).
2nd Tollgate, Maputo Plaza, don't take tag only lane at the tollgates.
After this tollgate you take the Xai Xai off ramp to the left.
You are on the EN1 North (Xai Xai road). You will drive through
various small towns: Marraquenne, Manica, Palmeiras, 3 de Feverreiras,
Magul, Mimbiri, Macia, Incaia, Chucumbane, Xai Xai.
When driving through Xai Xai town, you will get the last petrol
garage (Petro Moc) on your Left handside/ Right handside. From this
point it is ± 40km to the turn off.
You will drive through Chongoene, Nhamavilla and the last town,
Chizavane.
After ± 1km out of the town Chizavane, you will reach a dirt
road. On the right, a ZONA BRAZA SIGN – 10KM.
Turn right at this sign into the dirt road. You will drive ±
10km straight on this dirt road.
When you reach the sign: Zona Braza 700m. turn Right at this sign
and left to the next Zona Braza sign – 700m
Follow this road straight until you get our gate entrance.
Zona Braza Lodge is situated at Praia de Chizavane, Mocambique.
We are ± 800km from Pretoria/Johannesburg, 380km from the
Lebombo border (Komatipoort) – 5 hours drive and 280km from
Maputo – 4 hours drive. The road is very good up to Xai Xai.
We advice you not to drive at night.
What to bring
All units are self catering, bring your own food for the duration
of your stay
Meat is scarce – vacuum pack and freeze before departure
Xai Xai have a Shoprite, Super Mercado and Pereira & Santos,
where you can do some food and drinks shopping
You can draw money at ATM’s in Xai Xai
Please remember we do not have creditcard facilities

Crossing the border
Komatipoort Border Post(Lebombo) to Mozambique
Enter the gate and you will be given your gate pass which includes:
your car registration and
number of people in your vehicle
Park your vehicle in the designated parking areas and enter the
building, complete a vehicle
temporary export document and gate pass, have them both stamped.
If you have any questions go to the Customer Services Help Desk.
Proceed to immigration, with your passports, where they will be
stamped.
If you have any export goods to declare, go to the Customs desk
where your original invoices
must be stamped
Proceed to the Vehicle Registration desk (You should have all your
vehicle registration
documents) and collect the DA341
Complete the DA341 form and have it stamped with your gate pass
by the official.
Proceed to Immigration desk along with your passport and gate pass
and have your passport
stamped.
If you are not a South African citizen and want to reclaim VAT,
present the goods and original
invoices at the VAT counter for a VAT refund
Return to your vehicle and give your gate pass to the official at
the gate, at this stage a Customs
Official may ask to search your car.
Proceed to the Mozambique border post
At Mozambique Border:
You will receive a gate pass on entering Mozambique, make sure that
you obey the directions
and signals of the border officers and that you stop or park where
they show you. Proceed to the immigration
building.
Do NOT to let the locals, help you, with the paperwork. Customs
officials are not allowed to
receive money, but helpers are, so they work together.
This means that together they will go through your belongings, to
find something, to make you
pay for, where as the customs officials on his own is less likely
to go through your belongings.
Before You Leave
Ensure that all passports are valid for at least six months (visas
are not required for South African citizens)
Copy of your vehicle registration papers
If your car is being financed, you will have to get a letter from
the bank/insurance stating that you have permission to take the
car across the border
Ensure that license discs are current and visible
Two red triangles are compulsory to have with you in vehicle
One safety vest compulsory in your vehicle (available from Chamberlains
/ Builders warehouse)
If you are using a trailer, it is compulsory for standard yellow/blue
triangle stickers on the front and back of vehicles and trailers/boat
All trailers must have reflective tape on the sides and back.
ZA-sticker is also compulsory. All these stickers are available
from AA Auto Shops, camping / outdoor
shops and license plate suppliers and
A Compulsory Third Party Insurance that can be obtained from border
posts or at the SASOL
garage before entering the border post or at outdoor shops and is
valid for thirty days
It is imperative to adhere to the speed limits in Mozambique. Always
be on the lookout for the road sign
Always be on the lookout for pedestrians, goats, cattle and un-roadworthy
vehicles.
