After a night rested on thick Egyptian cotton sheets and waking to the sound of rolling waves lapping at the sand just 30 metres below your room, ease your way into the day with a delectable, all homemade breakfast feast. Afterwards slip into a day bed or hammock with a fresh mint and ginger iced tea or perhaps a gin and tonic from our well-stocked honesty bar and find out what a true beach break is all about.

Bungalows and Rooms

6 rooms, all with their own type of style.

Bungalow 1 - Sitting slightly a part from the main building, spacious Bungalow One provides that intimate privacy ideal for a romantic getaway.

Bungalow 2 & 3 - Ever wanted to wake up to not only the sound of the sea but a vision of it? No need to even raise your head off the Egyptian cotton covered pillows as these rooms give a new meaning to the term “sea view.“ Slide back your double glass doors and fill your lungs with the taste of the Indian Ocean rumbling a tennis ball throw away.

Bungalow 4 - Pure elegance. With a King size bed, large comfy and cosy roofless bathroom (perfect for watching the stars while taking a hot shower) with a tropical garden. There's also a walk-in wardrobe, beautiful living room and a terrace with a gorgeous, private infinity-plunge pool. Featuring Egyptian linen, Italian taps, LED lights and Memory foam pillows, a memorable stay in guaranteed.

Garden Room 5 & 6 - Bright and airy. These two spacious rooms in the main house are an oasis of tranquillity and perfect for those on a tighter budget. Wake up to the aroma of baked goods cooked with love by our smiling staff in the communal kitchen, or stroll out onto the nearby roof terrace for breakfast in these centrally located stunning rooms.

Each room has a king size bed, Safety box, mosquito spray, beach towels and umbrella. The beach is not more than 50 meters away from either one of the rooms.

Dive centers, bar, restaurants are all at walking distance, about 150 metres from our doorstep.

Where is Baia Sonambula Guest House?

With the quaint Inhambane airport just 23 kilometres from Tofo’s pristine sandy shores and Baia Sonambula, reaching paradise has never been easier. We are more than happy to organise an airport transfer.

Driving - Inhambane is about 500 kilometres north of Mozambique’s capital city, Maputo, along good bitumen roads. Whilst the road is in excellent condition and suitable for all vehicles, we advise guests to allow seven hours from Maputo as traffic can be congested in the capital and police heavily enforce the 60 kilometre speed limit in the string of picturesque villages and towns the road winds its way through.
Once you arrive in Inhambane, head east and simply follow the "Praia do Tofo" signs for about 23 kilometres. At "Babalaza", a small town with a string of roadside stalls, turn sharply right when the road folks and continue for five kilometres. There is a petrol station with an ATM on this road. Please note this is the last petrol station and there are no ATMs in Tofo. Upon arrival at Tofo look out for our sign directing you to turn left, into a sandy road. If you are driving a raised 4X4 take this road, otherwise we advise driving for another 100 metres to the next sandy road which is suitable for all vehicles. Either way, continue along the sandy roads for a further 500 metres following our signs, until you reach the sea and our wooden double gates. You can safely park your car outside our doors.
