Complexo Turistico do Ponta Malongane, also known as Ponta Malongane is one of the premium dive centres and adventure holiday resorts in Mozambique.

Ponta Malongane is right next door! Situated 6 hours from Johannesburg and 4 hours from Durban, you can enter through the Kosi Bay border post, Swaziland, or the Lebombo border post at Komatipoort. Located 20 kilometers north from the Kosi Bay border your adventure start at the border with the challenging sandy roads of Southern Mocambique. A border transfer service is also offered for those unfortunate among us not to have a 4x4 vehicle.

Ponta Malongane is situated in a picture perfect country! There are 2 x 6 sleeper chalets each with open plan kitchen/living/sleeping areas and one separate bedroom.The fully equipped kitchen includes crockery; cutlery; fridge/ freezer and gas cooker. Private bathroom with hot water shower; ceiling fans and daily maid service. Outside braai. Close to beach and restaurant with parking for boats and trailers.

Tents on ground and Tents on decking

2 Man dome tents with twin bedded mattresses, which are situated in the dive camp. There is no en suite bathroom - shared ablution facilities. Please provide your own linen and towels. The kitchen is equipped with pots, pans, gas stove and basic utensils; you will however need to take your own crockery and cutlery. No plug points are supplied to the tents. Fridge/freezer space is allocated to all guests staying in the dive camp. No cooking, candles, mosquito burners are permitted inside the tents or on the wooden decks.

DIVE CAMP TENTS, 2 SLEEPER

The resort offers 25 two-man dome tents close to the Dive Camp; boat launching area and Nascer do Sol Bar. Each tent has two twin mattresses and mosquito screened windows and doors. There are 14 Deck Tents built up on wooden decks with shade covers and 11 Ground Tents in the shaded camp area closer to the beach. No cooking; candles; mosquito burners are permitted inside tents or on wooden decks. The adjacent ablutions all have hot water showers. There are no plug points at the tents. Plug points are available in the Dive Camp for laptops/cell phone/camera charges. Persons staying in these tents have use of the Dive Camp self catering kitchen where fridge/freezer space will be allocated on arrival.

RUSTIC LOG HUTS, 2 SLEEPER

The Resort has 19 Rustic Log Huts which are ideal for scuba divers. Situated at the Dive Camp, just a few meters from the beach and Nascer do Sol Bar. Each log hut has 2 twin beds with bedding and linen. Adjacent ablutions have hot water showers and power outlets for hairdryers and shavers. There are no plug points inside the log huts. No cooking; candles; mosquito burners are permitted inside or on decks of log huts. Plug points are available in the Dive Camp for laptops/cell phone/camera charges. Persons staying in these Log Huts have use of the Dive Camp self catering kitchen where fridge/freezer space will be allocated on arrival.The kitchen is equipped with gas cookers, pots and pans and basic cooking utensils. THERE IS NO CROCKERY/ CUTLERY.

Loggerhead (2 Tented Rooms)

Loggerhead Tented Camp was initially established as accommodations for turtle research workers observing behavior of loggerhead and leatherback turtles. Nestled in the heart of the Mozambique tropical coastal forest, Loggerhead Tented Camp is situated in the quiet, Northern part of our Resort a few meters from the beach. There are 2 upstairs tented bedrooms, one with shower en suite; 2 log huts downstairs 1 x 2 bed and 1 x 3 beds with shared bathroom/shower. The fully equipped kitchen includes crockery; cutlery; fridge; freezer and gas stove. Hot water showers; fans and daily maid service. Bedding, linen and towels are NOT provided.

Short walk to restaurant. Plenty of shaded parking.

Important things to remember when planning your vacation

There are NO Credit Card facilities at the Resort. The Resort operates strictly on a Cash only basis. Please ensure you bring sufficient cash in either SA Rands, US$ or Meticais for the duration of your stay. Petrol and Diesel is available at Ponta do Ouro approx. 8km south of the Resort. There are no medical facilities at the Resort – the nearest hospital is at Manguzi in South Africa. Please bring a fully equipped first aid kit and include any prescription medication; anti malaria prophylactics and anti histamines. Please bring your own bath and beach towels – NO towels are supplied in chalets or rondavals or at any accommodation in Resort.

Plug points at the Resort accommodations and campsites all run on 5 amps and are unable to support any electrical appliances with elements ie. hairdryers/electric kettles/electric heaters – please do not bring them – they will cause power to trip. The Resort does not offer any private laundry service to guests. Water to the Resort comes from a borehole and is fine for washing and bathing. Bottle water is recommended for drinking. Wood and charcoal can be purchased from the villagers just outside the Resort.

Important things to remember once inside the Resort

NO quad bikes or motor bikes are permitted to be driven or switched on inside the Resort. Persons not adhering to this will be fined.

No resort poles may be removed for any reason – persons will be fined. No tents are permitted to be put up outside chalets or rondavals. Camping is strictly on designated pre-paid campsites. Resort speed limit is 20km – please drive slowly and be aware of small children.

All swimmers/beach goers – for your own safety, please keep well away from the ski-boat launching area when swimming, snorkeling or relaxing on the beach. No hosepipes are to be used inside the resort except at the boat cleaning area. Please do not park in the roads or on grassed garden areas. Please report any problems direct to Reception (24 hrs).
