Here, a moment below the surface of the ocean will remain with you for a lifetime. We invite you to join us in observing and interacting with the amazing cetaceans and other marine life residing in the bays of southern Mozambique.

In Ponta, we have an incredibly special bond with a group of wild dolphins (some resident and others transient to the area) with whom we socialize and have formed some profound bonds and inter-relationships. We feel it is our obligation, and have therefore made it our key purpose, to ensure the well being and preservation of the dolphins, as well as other marine life within the area, at all times.

Accommodation at Dolphin Centre Ponta do Ouro

Accommodation Types

Dolphin View Apartment - The Dolphin View apartment is a three bedroom unit situated above The Dolphin Centre, which is located just outside the Ponta do Ouro Campsite. This apartment can accommodate groups of six to eight people. Its has an open plan lounge and dining room that both lead onto covered balconies with a braai. The main living area has two day beds, as well as DSTV. The main bedroom offers a queen size bed, and the second bedroom has a bunk bed. The bathroom is situated between the two bedrooms. Lastly the third bedroom is equipped with two single beds. There is also access to another bathroom situated downstairs for larger groups. A fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, oven, microwave, and fridge/freezer is available.

Ocean View Cottage - A gorgeous little cottage situated on the hilltop next door to The Dolphin Centre. This unit comprises of two bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen and of course a covered patio. The main room is equipped with a double bed as well as a bunk bed. The second bedroom offers two single beds. The fully equipped kitchen comes with gas-top stove, microwave and fridge/freezer. The lounge area has a TV with DSTV and the front door of the cottage opens onto the expansive covered patio area.

Ocean View Chalet - Only a short walk next door to the cottage and also on the hill top adjacent to the Dolphin Centre, will you find this spectacular chalet that consists of a fully equipped kitchen with gas-top stove and oven, microwave and fridge/freezer, that overlooks the lounge and dinning area with TV with DSTV. From the patio area, you can experience magnificent sea views. The main bedroom is equipped with a double bed and air-conditioner and the small second bedroom offers a bunk bed and side table preferable for children. There is one bathroom and only comes with a shower. This chalet is the ideal for a honeymooners breakaway.

The Lodge Chalets - The Dolphin Centre’s Lodge Chalets rests against the dune overlooking the Thanje campsite. Nestled amongst the trees and connected by boardwalks, these wooden chalets are only a few minutes’ walk from the beach.

Each chalet has a fully equipped open-plan kitchen/lounge area, with all doors leading onto a patio with braai facilities. One and two-bedroom chalets are available, accommodating two to six guests.

Ocean Retreat House - Nestled in a quiet suburban area of Ponta do Ouro you will find Ocean Retreat House. Ocean Retreat House has 3 bedrooms sleeping 6.

There is a fully equipped kitchen with gas top stove, which opens up onto the lounge area which has a TV with DSTV. The dinning room has large patio doors that also open onto the covered patio.
