The unique thing about us is the fact that we are a small company, catering for a small number of clients at a time. Service excellence is the watchword. It is private and almost exclusive.

Between all the partners we have about 15 years combined diving experience in Ponta. Because diving is such an unusual and sometimes dangerous sport (the ocean is a cruel mistress as the saying goes) people like to dive with charter companies they can trust and feel comfortable with.

Experienced skippers and dive masters give the client a relaxed carefree diving getaway that would ensure that the next time they want to dive in Ponta there is no hesitation as to who they will be diving with.

If you are diving 3 or 4 km offshore you would like to know that the boat is going to be there when you surface. There is nobody in Ponta Do Ouro that can compare with us on what we have to offer, from the ablution facilities to catering. Our mission is to lift ourselves to international standards which is what the diving industry in Africa needs.

Accommodation at Devocean Diving , Ponta do Ouro

Looking for a relaxed set up in a friendly environment? Devocean Diving offers three different kinds of accommodation for all kinds of budgets, situated on three different properties in Ponta do Ouro:

Each one of these options is serviced every day.

• Deluxe tented accommodation,
• Self-catering chalets, sleep 4 or 5 each,
• And a self-catering house, sleeps 10.

The Dive Camp
Our Deluxe tents are situated in our Dive Camp, right in the centre of Ponta do Ouro, next door to the police station. They are pitched in shaded areas, in our lush property.

There are 16-17 tents that can accommodate a total of 27-29 people. There are 2 Sleeper Double tents and 1 or 2 Sleeper Single tents available. All tents have lamps, fans and power points (South African power sockets) with side tables and shelf space and are fitted with single or double framed beds. All tents include linen (towels excluded). There are communal male and female ablutions and shower facilities on site.

We have a communal Lapa area where one can mingle, play board games, read a magazine or book, enjoy a meal or have a drink from our bar. You may pre-book or decide on arrival to make use of our restaurant for brunches and dinners or alternately dine in the village.

The Piri-piri chalets
Should you prefer to stay in self-catering accommodation, we also offer two chalets that sleep 4 to 5 people each (8 to 9 people in total). Both chalets are built on the same model: They have a small lounge opening onto a kitchenette fitted with a 2-plate stove, fridge, cutlery, crockery and pots and a bathroom with a shower. One bedroom is fitted with a double bed and the second room with 2 single beds or a double bunk bed (sleeps 2) and a single bed. Both chalets include linen.

The chalets are situated 500m from the Dive Camp and are surrounding a small swimming pool.

Eating at Devotion
Although most of our accommodation is tented, Devocean Diving is no longer self-catering. Come enjoy our revamped restaurant! We do have braai facilities for the odd occasion and do allow for snacks to be kept in the communal fridge and freezer. Our on-site restaurant, described as one of Ponta’s best restaurants by Getaway Magazine, serves up two delicious and extremely wholesome meals a day.

Tea and coffee are complimentary and self-service throughout the day at the tea station. We also have a bar for refreshments and alcoholic beverages. There is a stalled local market within walking distance with some local produce and there are restaurants and bars in the village.

Devocean Diving is a small company, catering for a small number of clients at a time. It is a private and almost exclusive resort for people who love diving. We offer the best of everything: stunning accommodation, excellent food and experienced skippers and dive masters - a combination to give you an unforgettable diving experience.

The catering is by far the JEWEL in our crown. Our guests rave about the food after every meal. Catering is on a brunch and dinner basis. When dining with us be prepared to have your taste buds tantalised. The daily menu is subject to availability of ingredients and the chef's "mood".

You start your day with a selection of tea's, coffee's, home baked biscuits and rusks. After you first dive brunch is served, consisting of a fruit starter, freshly baked bread or muffins, fruit juice, and followed by a cooked breakfast. You will enjoy a diving feast that you might have been looking for for a long time!

We currently are the only dive centre in Southern Mozambique that has been awarded the PADI 5* Instructor Development Dive Resort, the highest PADI delivered award. We also fluently speak English, French, Dutch and Afrikaans; and would therefore be able to accommodate you with your first choice language.
