Detailed Itinerary

Starts & finishes in Johannesburg (South Africa)

Day 1

Day at leisure enjoy the many optional attractions and activities available in Johannesburg and Pretoria. Meet at 18h30, for the pre-departure meeting where you will have the opportunity to meet your fellow travellers and get to know your guides. The meeting will cover all the aspects of the trip. Please bring with you to this meeting: your passport with relevant visa's and evidence of medical and personal insurance. Please also bring the Local Payment.
Meals: All meals will be for your own account.
Accommodation: Hotel

Days 2 - 4 - Kruger National Park

We depart for the BIG FIVE country (Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Buffalo and Elephant) of the world famous Kruger National Park - the second largest National Park in the world (21,497 square km). We arrive at our camp and enjoy the evening sounds of this awesome park over dinner. The following day we will spend the cooler parts of the day on 2 game drives in our vehicle. There are night drive options in the evening - but these are dependant on availability.

Meals: Breakfast and lunch on day 2. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on days 3 & 4.
Accommodation: Camping (Berg en Dal Camp or similar) Kruger National Park

Days 5 & 6 - Praia do Tofo, Inhambane (Mozambique)

We travel to Praia do Tofo (Tofo Beach) near the charming town of Inhambane which is full of rich, old Portuguese architecture, most notably the Catholic Cathedral in the bay. The Portuguese established a permanent settlement and trading post at Inhambane making it one of the oldest settlements in Southern Africa.

There will be time to explore Tofo & the town of Inhambane or arrange for scuba diving.

Days 7 & 8 - Morrongulo

We depart to Morrungulo. With its stretch of coastline hemmed by palms and casuarina trees, your days will be spent snorkelling, swimming and relaxing on the beach.

Day 9 - Xai Xai Area

Today we travel to Xai Xai, which lies on the north bank of the Limpopo River - the idyllic white beaches are synonymous for what Mozambique is known for. Xai Xai also boasts a prolific bird population.

Day 10 - Maputo

Formerly known as Lourenço Marques, Maputo is where Portuguese and African cultures meet. Enjoy superb seafood and vibrant nightlife. Inhaca Island is a small-inhabited island, lying just 37 km off the Maputo coast and positioned at the entrance to Delagoa Bay. It is easily accessible by boat or ferry. Breathtaking beaches some of the best scuba diving and big-game fishing in the world can be experienced here.

Day 11 - Mlilwane Sanctuary

Today we'll make our way to the little Kingdom of Swaziland. We head to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, which was the first of Swaziland's wildlife refuges. We will have the afternoon to enjoy some optional activities in this beautiful reserve such as horse riding, mountain bike riding and game walking.

Days 12 & 13 - Kosi Bay

Kosi Bay Nature Reserve covers an area of sweeping beaches, great fertile estuaries, mangrove forests and lakes. You can visit the Kosi Bay River mouth and snorkel in its crystal clear waters or watch the local fisherman gather their nets in the estuary. Between the months of January and November, it may be possible to glimpse giant leatherback turtles that come on to these beaches to lay their eggs.

Day 14 - Mkhuze Game Reserve

We continue to Mkhuze Game Reserve, located in the northwestern spur of the Greater St Lucia Wetland Park and to our camp. The days are at your leisure, and you may choose a variety of optional activities in this area. A Zulu cultural village in the reserve offers a glimpse of the traditional lifestyle and crafts of the KwaJobe community. Birding, game viewing and sitting quietly in the three game viewing hides are the most popular activities in Mkhuze.
Meals: Breakfast and lunch. Dinner will be at your own expense.

Day 15 - Johannesburg/Pretoria

Leaving early we depart for the capital of South Africa - Pretoria. A fitting end to an awesome safari.

To ensure plenty of time to enjoy all there is on offer in Johannesburg/Pretoria we can organise any accommodation you may require if you want to arrive early or stay on after your tour ends. We can book airport transfers and additional accommodation, please contact us for assistance.

Price Includes

Itinerary as specified, fully equipped safari vehicle, services of tour leader and camp courier, all accommodation, all camping and catering equipment and National Park entrance fees. Breakfast (B) Lunch (L) Dinner (D) where specified. Meals not shown will be to the clients account. Occasionally breakfast and lunch may be combined into a brunch where necessary e.g. mornings with early game drives.

Price Excludes

International Airfares, travel and medical insurance, personal spending money, visas, passports, vaccinations, personal taxes (including departure and border taxes) all optional activities, unscheduled or optional national / game parks and other activities, gratuities, sleeping bag, restaurant meals and all other items of a personal nature. All drinks, even on days with full board basis.
