Bilene is a popular holiday village situated on the banks of the salt water Saõ Martinhõ Lagoon which is almost entirely separated from the ocean by a large sandbar. A channel to the ocean is kept open at all times and it is possible to take boat trips out to the ocean although the sandy beaches around the lagoon are so beautiful that few people do.
This campsite is situated at a peaceful location just 100m from the beach and shores of the Sao Martinho lake, and 6 km north of Bilene. There are 12 private camping sites or "Bomas". Each Boma or campsite is approx.15x15m and surrounded by a reed fence. Bomas are situated approximately 100 metres from the lagoon.
Each Boma has its own ablution block with toilet/shower and outside wash basin as well as fire ∓ braai facility. A "donkey", lit by the staff on a daily basis, supplies warm water for the shower and wash facility.
Electricity is currently supplied by a generator which is switched off at night.
