Casa Ericka is a 5 bedroom chalet with breathtaking views of one of the single most beautiful beaches in the world. Situated no further than 70m from the sea it forms part of the Chongoene Holiday Resort.

Not only is the resort located close to the beach, it has clean sand along warm tropical crystal clear waters and hot weather all year round, it also offers various outdoor and water activities.

The massive reef running parallel to the beach provides natural protection against the strong waves at high tide and forms several small pools at low tide. Snorkelling and diving are much enjoyed during low tide.

Deep-sea fishing is excellent at Xai Xai and shore fishing is good at certain times of the year, especially from May to July, which is Kingfish time. Fly-fishing can also be enjoyed from the reef that protrudes from the sea, giving the fisherman a great chance to fly-fish in deeper water.

The open, sun-drenched beaches offer endless hours of strolling pleasure, kite flying, snorkelling, swimming, diving, and relaxing. Affordable meals can be enjoyed at the Restaurant, which also has a TV with DSTV.

Casa Ericka has BREAKERVIEWS from nearly all rooms with the rumbling of the waves in the background!!! It is a self-catering chalet with 5 separate bedrooms, kitchen, 2x bathrooms, living area and sundeck with awesome sea views and a nice braai area .

The house has a gas stove, electrical fridge/freezer, cutlery, crockery and all basic cookware, as well as bedding. Mosquito nets are provided and the chalet is serviced daily. Please bring your own towels.
Although Xai-Xai is a malaria area, the subtle breeze that blows most of the time keeps very few mosquitoes around.
There are a number of fresh water lakes within 30 minutes drive where kayaking; paddle Skiing and windsurfing can be enjoyed. Wenela Tidal Pool, two kilometres South is a fascinating natural treasure having a natural tunnel and blow hole linking the pool to the sea.

Road Directions: From Maputo travel north on the EN1 for 224km until you reach the town of Xai Xai, then travel almost through the town until the BP garage on the left, 300m after the garage take a right turn to the Praia de Xai Xai (beach), travel for 10km until you reach a circle, keep left and follow the tar road to the beach front. At the beach front turn left into the dirt road and travel north along the sea shore (past the caravan park on your left hand side) on a sand road for 3km, you will see Chongoene Holiday Resort on your left.

Facilities: We are 14km from the Xai-Xai town with its local markets, local shops and a Shoprite, restaurants, banks, pharmacies, a hospital and open air furniture factories. The currency in mozambique is meticais, but South African Rand is accepted in most places. You can draw money at the ATM’s (meticais). There is a First National Bank and Standard Bank.
