More than a decade of preparation working and playing in the dive industry, finally the effort started paying off when Rupert gave up the buzz of the city and moved to the slow and rural life of Ponta D’Oura, where Back to Basics Adventures were born in 2010.

Literally back to basics, life in Mozambique forces one to focus on that which is really important, leaving the glam and glitter of the city life far behind, finding the essence of life and sharing it with others.

Back to Basics Adventures found that the essence of their operation is the people. The people that own it, the people that work there, and most importantly the people that visit, because Back to Basics Adventures realises that it is the people that make the dive a memorable experience, not the amount of dives you can fit into a day. They realise that people come here to have fun, to explore the underwaterworld, and to connect with other like-minded people.

Back To Basics Guesthouse in Ponta de Ouro. Our house is located in the center of town, 100 meter from the ocean. It has a nice garden and a brie area. There is optional cleaning assistance available

The House has:
1 bedroom with a double bed
1 bedroom with 2 bunk beds (sleeps 4 persons)
1 bathroom with toilet and shower
1 kitchen fully equipped and a living room with dining table and lounge area

The Garden room has:

1 bathroom with toilet and shower

We recommend you to bring fresh groceries, there is good veggies at the local market we try to support local business. The service in Ponta is very slow so be sure not to be in a rush. You will find Wi-Fi at restaurant Upstairs.
