The Polana’s perfect location gives guests a panoramic view of the Bay of Maputo from virtually anywhere in the lush, landscaped gardens, the ideal place for a gentle stroll or a game of chess under the deep shade of the great rubber tree.
The magnificent swimming-pool is inviting after a game of tennis or a tour down-town, a shimmering expanse of cool blue water dreaming in the sun.

Best buffet breakfast anywhere. I REPEAT - anywhere. Its africa, so sometimes there is a compromise. Like old curtains, and baggy bed spreads. But thats the detail. and let me tell you, the devil's is in the service and this place is the Vatican. 10 staff members to a guest. really, viva colonial africa.

The Polana is one of this classical hotels that you cannot miss.
The hotel is a typical colonial style building with a great swimming pool, a great bar, a great tea room, a great victorian lift...
The rooms are fine and you have wi-fi access for free. Even when your room is turned to the Juluis Nyerere Av. there's not much noise.
The staff is very friendly and speak impecable English.
I have stayed in many hotels around the world and Mozambique was my 10th african country and I can assure you that this was the best hotel I have ever stayed in Africa.
The thing here is not luxury! The thing here is character: you can feel the character of this hotel. It is a different place, no matter if you're on holidays or business.
And Maputo is really a lovely place, where you can eat extremely well and pay cheap. Mozambique is a country to visit not only due to its' nature but (specially) due to its' charming and polite people. Don't miss it!!!
