Accommodation

Camping
There are 20 large campsites. The campsites are on the protected side of the dune, unfortunately without a sea view, but a short walk and you are over the dune and onto the beach. There are adequate ablutions, cold and Hot water showers and flushing toilets. Shade is limited so please pack extra shading. In season we have a minimum 4 to 6 people per campsite required, depending on the size of the campsite.

Bungalows
There are four 4 sleeper Thatched Bungalows, and a 6-sleeper bungalow. In these they supply bedding, open plan kitchenette with 3 plate gas cooker, cutlery and crockery, table and chairs (of the white garden furniture type) each bungalow area has its own ablutions, cold water showers and flushing toilet. There are electric lights while the main generator is on, thereafter lighting is paraffin lamps. Not serviced, servants must be recruited; this is done at the security office adjacent to the security boom.

Beach houses
There are 2 houses, one 6-sleeper house and then there is an 8-sleeper. In these they supply bedding, kitchen with 2-plate gas cooker, cutlery and crockery. Each house has its own bathroom, hot and cold-water showers and flushing toilet. Lighting is paraffin lamps. Not serviced, servants must be recruited; this is done at the security office adjacent to the security boom. Electric lighting has just been put into the houses, but this is dependant on the generator being on, so it is advisable to pack candles and Tilley lamps.

Restaurant and Bar
Meals can be arranged at the restaurant, you are encouraged to pre book meals to avoid disappointment. Then there is a pub. Bread and ice is also available on a daily basis, high season there is not enough to go round so please do not rely on purchasing ice and bread daily.

Launching

The launching of ski-boats and rubber ducks is very easy at Závora, as there is a protected bay. Driving on the beach is not allowed in Mozambique, launch permits are required; Závora office has permits for sale.
