Generator
Due to the remoteness of Dugong Beach Lodge power is obtained from
a combination of solar and generator power. The generator operates
for a few hours as the sun begins to set until approximately half
an hour after the last guest has gone to bed. Limited essential
lighting & ceiling fan can still operate after the generator
has been switched off due to solar power.
A typical day at Dugong Lodge
On arrival at Vilanculos airport, guests are met by our
representative. A short road transfer takes you to the beach where
you board a boat for the transfer to Dugong Beach Lodge. These boat
transfers can be adventurous and it is advisable that casual clothing,
open shoes/sandals and a light wind-breaker are worn. At times,
due to weather conditions, guests may get wet (rain suits are provided
on the boat) and are required to remove footwear to gain access
to the boat.
Our policy at Dugong Beach Lodge is to allow our guests as much
freedom regarding meal times. As there are no set times for meals,
your day can begin as early or as late as you wish. Breakfast and
lunch are served on the deck overlooking the beach and jetty. Dinner
may be served on the beach with the warm sand between your toes
(subject to weather and tidal conditions)
Pure relaxation is the order of the day. Picnic on a deserted island,
enjoy leisurely walks on a perfect white sand beach with translucent
waters or sip cocktails at the poolside or under a thatched canopy
on the beach.
